“I had a terrific time at this school…I liked being able to see the skulls of lots of animals. It was also cool to learn
about the animals the skulls belonged to.” –Rock, 6th grade
What is outdoor school like? We're still in school, but under the trees, stars, and clouds. The lessons are like games, so you'll be having fun while you learn. Click here to see the schedule for a typical day.
Will I get to be with my friends? YES! And you get to make new friends! You might be in a cabin or a trail group with your friends. Dinner and breakfast are great times to catch up with your friends, as is the elective period. We'll be with different people during different times of the day. GBOS is a great way to make new friends and get to know more people!
What will I eat? We'll provide yummy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for you. Everyone says the food is soooo good!

Where will I sleep? We'll be sleeping in cabins, which are heated when its cold. Inside the cabins you'll find bunk beds, and a separate area for the bathroom and showers.
What should I bring? Your teacher will give you a full packing list. But bring comfortable clothes for all kinds of weather, shoes that are good to walk around in, and sun protection. Please leave electronics at home, including cell phones and ipods. Bring lunch for the first day, a book to read, personal items (tooth paste, soap, towel), and a sleeping bag. If you don't have something on the list, let your teacher know and we can lend you something, no problem. Most of all, bring your positive attitude!
What are the rules? Respect, Responsibility, Caring and being Careful. What do you think that could mean?
