How long is a field trip? | Spring and Fall sessions are 4 days and 3 nights. Winter programs are two days and one night, or three days and two nights. |
How much does it cost? | Spring and Fall: $195 per student Winter: $75 for 2 days and $125 for 3 days per student. Our prices are very competitive. |
What do I have to do to sign up? | Check the calendar then call us for available dates (775) 823-8888 and send in a registration form. 20% deposit reserves your spot. |
What standards do you meet? | Our curriculum meets many NV state standards. Click here for the list. |
Do you offer financial aid? | Yes. We have a limited need-based scholarship fund. We also have a lot of fundraising ideas for schools to defray costs. |
What obligations do I have during a session? | You are in charge of medications and two 40 minute blocks to do an activity/reflection with your students. Mainly, you'll be having fun along side of your students. |
What do I do before the trip? | Send in registration form and deposit, book busses, send out packets to parents, set up a time for a GBOS staff member to come to your school to speak with parents and students, look for volunteer cabin leaders. |
Do you follow best practices in youth development? | Yes. We provide leadership opportunities for students; the curriculum is inquiry-based; and we embody a culture of respect and responsibility. |
