Family Guided Hikes!
Come join us on our monthly hikes! Four of them will be in collaboration with Gear Hut Reno! These short excursions are led by our knowledgeable naturalists and created for the whole family to enjoy!
Participant numbers will be limited, so be sure to register below!
Donations are not required but are highly appreciated.

Galena Creek Regional Park South Entrance

Meet at the south entrance of Galena Creek Regional Park off Mt. Rose Highway. This is the area of the park near the Galena Creek Fish Hatchery and campground, not the visitor center! Learn more about the science of snow and how to stay safe while enjoying the winter scenery. We will be providing snowshoes in youth and adult sizes for rent at low costs. Please indicate the number and size of snowshoe pairs to be rented by your party when filling out the registration form. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, warm layers, waterproof shoes, and a camera!

This is a popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!
Guided hikes are scheduled and occur permitting weather. We will attempt to notify you 24 hours in advance if the hike will be rescheduled. Some weather conditions that will result in cancellation include but are not limited to an Air Quality Index (AQI) greater than 100, chain controls on major highways, or rain. Hikes will only be rescheduled once.
