Family Hike Event
Saturday, March 15th, 2025
10:00 am to noon
Washoe Lake State Park Campground
4855 Eastlake Boulevard, Carson City, NV 89704

Join Great Basin Outdoor School and Gear Hut for a stroll in the dunes!

Meet at the equestrian trail parking lot of the Washoe Lake State Park campground. Enter the campground past the State Parks kiosk and turn right on the unmarked road leading to Campground Loops A and B. Drive past both campgrounds and follow the unpaved road to the equestrian trail parking lot. We'll be joined by Park Ranger Kim Zuch who will share information about the wildlife and history of Washoe Valley. We'll also lead activities such as using soil sifters to search for natural artifacts in the sands. Bring extra layers for the wind, waterproof or water-tolerant shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera!
All park fees will be waived for the hike, although donations to Nevada State Parks are greatly appreciated.
All ages welcome!
This is a popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!
