Single Day Science Excursions

Spring & Fall Ecology Field Trips

Expand your ecology and wildlife studies with one of our ecology field trips at either Spooner Lake or Galena Creek. This trip is designed to teach students to explore the natural environment around them here in northern Nevada. Students hike through a multitude of weaving trails while viewing wildlife, discussing animal adaptations, and dip netting for  aquatic macroinvertebrates.

Winter Snowshoeing

Field Trips

Winter is the perfect season to explore the outdoors during one of GBOS's snowshoeing field trips. Students learn about winter safety, snow crystal formation, winter animal and plant adaptations and so much more! Our goal is that through education about the region's natural ecosystems, students will gain a lifelong interest in and understanding of their responsibility to pursue outdoor winter activities in a safe and respectful manner.
